Macarons may be all the rage right now for weddings, but brides and grooms (and, ahem, editors) are still crazy about cupcakes.
In Utah, no one knows more about cupcakes than Leslie Fiet of Mini’s Cupcakes in Salt Lake City, the first gourmet cupcake bakery in the Beehive State. Aside from baker and business owner, Fiet can now add a new title to her resume: book author. She recently penned Mini Cupcakes a cookbook all about, what else, cupcakes.
The book features tips for making, baking and decorating cupcakes, plus recipes for Mini faves like Breakfast at Tiffany’s (a Madagascar vanilla bean cupcake with Tiffany Blue cream cheese frosting ) and The Diva (a dark Belgium cupcake with pink cream cheese frosting).
If you want to try your hand at whipping up Mini’s tasty morsels at home, you can pick up a copy of the cookbook at two signings this week:
- Thursday, March 24 at Mini’s Cupcakes, 14 E. 800 South, SLC from 5-8 p.m.
- Saturday, March 26 at The King’s English Bookstore, 1511 S. 1500 East, SLC at 2 p.m.
Pick up a signed copy and satistfy your sweet tooth.
