Are y’all gearing up for a festive Fourth of July weekend? I don’t know about you, but BBQ and fireworks are calling my name! To kick-off the long weekend, I have a fun engagement shoot to share with you all.
When I spotted this airplane engagment shoot on photographer Mikki Platt’s blog a few weeks back, I knew it would be perfect to share in honor of our country’s 235th birthday. The airplanes, the ’40s feel, the red lipstick + coiffed hair–very American, and oh-so romantic.
Mikki shares the details of the couple’s inspiration for the shoot…
When I first met with Whitney and Matt, we talked all about their plans and ideas, which included Pearl Harbor and incorporated romance, fun and the 1940′s. All Whitney had to do was whip out the red lipstick and she looked the part, and Matt had a perfect modern military look going on with his sharp attire.
This shoot reminds me of the war drama “Pearl Harbor”–can’t you see a little Kate Beckinsale in Whitney, and a little Josh Hartnett + Ben Affleck in Matt?
Congratulations Whitney and Matt! Thank you Mikki Platt for sharing this engagment shoot!
Have a happy Fourth of July everyone!
