Wide-leg flare jeans, peasant-style blouses, chunky turquoise jewelry, long wavy hair, platform wedge sandals, thick moustaches–in case you hadn’t noticed, popular style is having a serious love affair with all things ’70s. Being a big fan of the boho-chic aesthetic, I’m digging the current resurgence of easy, breezy, love-for-all fashions and attitudes.
So it should come as no surprise that my heart swelled when I spotted this “Summer of Love” engagement session by photographer David Newkirk. The couple, Brooklyn and Tim, channeled their inner hippies for the photo shoot, frolicking in grassy fields and along the sandy shores of the Great Salt Lake. The trio jammed to tunes by Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac throughout the shoot for inspiration. And get this: the photo shoot took place on June 21, aka the Summer Solstice. How perfect is that?
The images of Brooklyn (dressed in a paisley-print dress and wearing a braided headband) and Tim in the field at sunset are my favorites. And if you didn’t know any better, wouldn’t you mistake the shots at the Great Salt Lake for the coast of California? A girl can dream…*sigh*
Brooklyn and Tim are getting hitched this September–congratulations you two!
Thank you David Newkirk for sharing this boho-chic engagement session!
