This weekend’s Modern Trousseau Trunk Show at Alta Moda Bridal is just around the corner, and in a case of perfect timing, today the Connecticut atelier premiered their movie, “The Evolution of a Modern Trousseau Gown”–just in time to get you ready for dress shopping on Friday and Saturday!
For most brides, they see a dress, try it on, fall in love, buy it, and a few (or many) alterations later, they’re walking down the aisle in the gown of their dreams. But have you ever wondered what it takes to transform that dress from a sample on the rack to a custom creation perfectly fitted for you and you alone? Let’s just say there’s a whole lot happening behind the seams: sketching, measuring, draping, pinning, cutting, pressing, sewing, fitting. It’s a long process that takes many hours and skilled hands to complete.
Modern Trousseau’s film follows real bride Mandy and the creation of her “Wallis” dress from rolls of fabric to a full-on tulle-skirted wedding gown. Seeing the process with your own two eyes is sure to give you a whole new appreciation for your own white dress.
P.S. – Be sure to notice the signature at the end of the film–those are the hands of Modern Trousseau designer Callie Tein, and she’ll be in Salt Lake City to attend this weekend’s trunk show!
