For her June 2nd nuptials to art consultant Will Kopelman, actress and mom-to-be Drew Barrymore donned a custom Chanel bridal gown designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. (A chic choice and sure-fire way to win over the in-laws: Barrymore’s new father-in-law is the former CEO of Chanel.)
People magazine scored the exclusive rights to Barrymore’s wedding photos, and you can see glimpses (though, disappointingly, no full-lenght shot) of the Chanel gown in the newest issue. The bride’s custom creation featured three-quarter sleeves, a high, ruffled neckline, and a skirt embroidered with tulle flowers and feathers. She accessorized with a black satin belt, Chanel fine jewelry, and a black tweed Chanel jacket later in the evening.
Love it or hate it, Barrymore’s black-and-white ensemble was right on trend: Dresses with black accents have appeared on ready-to-wear and bridal fashion runways the past few seasons, including at the recent spring 2013 bridal fashion shows.
We’re not all lucky enough to have Karl Lagerfeld on speed dial (a girl can only dream), so if you’re a fan of Barrymore’s ebony and ivory bridal style, you can achieve a similar look with one of the following gowns from Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, and more:
