You’ll rarely find Salt Lake City designer Sophie St. Claire without her trusty needle and thread. A quick look at her resume, and you’ll understand why: She’s designed more than 250 custom wedding gowns, she’s worked as a costume design technician with the Utah Opera and in costume design and construction for theaters in Switzerland and France, and she’s taught classes in bridal design, corset making, advanced sewing, and more at the Salt Lake Community College Fashion Institute. Today, she works as a fashion designer consultant, a fit specialist at Alta Moda Bridal, and as the designer of her namesake St. Claire collection.
At this year’s Art Meets Fashion, St. Claire will present a runway collection of elegant gowns and sporty, modern separates. (The runway show is sponsored by Alta Moda Bridal, Yellow Bird Fabrics, and the Fashion Sewing School.) In looking at the promo photos for St. Claire’s AMF collection, we can’t help but think her designs would make gorgeous bridesmaid dresses. Have a look for yourself…
Gorgeous gowns, no? And on a beauty note, we’re loving the crown of blonde braids and the deep, dark lip color (burgundy-hued kissers will be all the rage this fall).
To check out the full St. Claire collection, snag your tickets to Art Meets Fashion at Red Butte Garden on September 8!
