Live From New York Bridal Market: Tara LaTour

Editor’s Note: This is a guest post from Lenni Stratton of Alta Moda Bridal and Lily & Iris. Lenni is blogging for us live from Bridal Fashion Week in NYC!

We spent our first morning at New York Bridal Week at the Hilton New York seeing some of our favorite designers, and a few new ones. We couldn’t wait to see the latest collection from  Tara LaTour, a designer known for her edgy but softly organic wedding dressesWe are suckers for colorful wedding dresses, and Tara LaTour is not afraid to branch out from your typical cream and ivory. With colors ranging from soft champagne and pink to deeper taupe and mocha, and even blacks and navy, we knew we were in for a treat.

Based on the feel of author Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are, while viewing Tara LaTour’s new collection we were transported to leaf-strewn forests and windswept coastlines.

We love Tara’s unabashed use of amazingly unique fabrics: textured silk, dyed organza, pleated brocade, and so many more! Tara’s bold application of unconventional elements like exposed zippers and squared trains sets her apart in the fashion world in an oh so beautiful way.
