Happy Halloween, gals, guys, and ghouls. We have quite the treat for you today (it’s way better than a bag of mini Snickers bars). Earlier this month, we saw this gorgeous styled shoot from Brooke Davis of SLC-based Blush Photography on Rock n’ Roll Bride, and we fell truly, madly, and deeply in love with the bride’s gorgeous green dress, dramatic berry-stained lips, lush floral piece cascading down the shoulder (one of our favorite details–such a cool alternative to a floral crown or bouquet), and the deliciously messy wedding cake (scroll to the very end to see what that’s all about).
The photo shoot was inspired by one of Brooke’s favorite songs, “Faking the Books” by Lali Puna (another detail we love–what’s more beautiful than images inspired by a melody?). The shoot also hints at Marie Antoinette, thanks to regal hair styling, an opulent table setting, a decadent croquembouche, and, of course, the cake. After all, it was Madame Antoinette who uttered that famous phrase, “Let them eat cake!”
A few words from Brooke:
This shoot was based on my love of music and the song, “Faking the Books.” It’s a song I claim as one of my only favorites. I wanted something different and loved the idea of our bride being drenched in flowers. My favorite detail is the little vine that dangles down her back. The green dress is just another reminder to brides that it’s YOUR wedding, so wear whatever you want. You should stand out in a sea of white.
For more from this shoot (plus a fantastic film by NP Films–be sure to check it out), hop on over to Rock n’ Roll Bride. Big thank you’s to Brooke and Kat from Rock n’ Roll Bride for sharing these gorgeous images with us today!
