Winter Wedding Must-Haves from Utah Bride Blog

Happy Wednesday, friends! We interrupt our Bridal Market coverage this week for our monthly post exchange with the lovely ladies of Utah Bride Blog. Today, Megan Bailey of UBB is sharing her favorite winter wedding must-haves for all you winter brides.  Snow bunnies, take note…

Winter is fast approaching and we are starting to move away from lush summer blooms and garden weddings to elements like snow, icicles, and gorgeous fur! Everyone dreams about a lovely summer wedding, but we happen to love winter weddings just as much! There is something so glamorous, romantic, and cozy about snow falling outside while you dine in a gorgeous room with your family and friends, perhaps sipping on hot cocoa. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful state that offers mountain-side venues, rustic lodges, and five-star hotel ballrooms perfect for every type of winter soiree.

Here are some great ideas and MUST HAVE details to create the perfect winter wonderland wedding:

You can’t have a winter affair without gorgeous faux fur hand-muffs for you and your ladies! Keep your hands warm and look stylish while you snag some of those outdoor snow shots! We are seeing a lot of fur accents not only in wedding fashion but also in the design details. This is one hot trend we look forward to seeing more of this winter!

Take advantage of the snow
and don’t look at it as something that will ruin your wedding day! Check out how unbelievably beautiful these images are with the snow falling around the couple. Snow can help create some of those lasting images that you will cherish forever.

Brooch-encrusted bouquets have been a trend we’ve seen a lot over the last year and we love this idea as an alternative for a winter floral bouquet. Lots of bling, diamonds, jewels, and anything metallic are super cool for winter weddings and we can’t get enough of them!

You have to have a beautiful scarf and gloves when it comes to living in Utah. Bring some of your favorite winter accessories to your bridal/groomal shoot and have your photographer get a few great details shots with them. We are also seeing a lot of plaid details and would love to see more of this pattern incorporated into the bridal party attire as well as design details.

If rust-hued details are not the look and feel you are going for and you really want to add a little pop of color, all you need is some bright red lipstick to really stand out! Just this small addition of red can really add a lot of glamour and sparkle to your style and looks amazing in photos!

Neutral color palettes with accents of winter gray are big this season. If you choose to go with a neutral or metallic color palette opt for white floral arrangements with accents of soft green leafs and branches. Keep things warm with a coffee and hot cocoa bar!

Last but not least… you can never go wrong with tights and boots for a winter event! How cute is that vintage sled?

Have fun and be creative with your details. And again, take advantage of the snow and Utah’s beautiful backdrop!

Thank you Megan for this fantastic guest post! These inspiration images and ideas make me want to get hitched in the mountains during a snow storm! I especially love the idea of incorporating faux fur and plaid accents in your wedding wardrobe and decor. And how darling is that sled photo with the Sorrel boots? Love!
