A Moveable Feast: The Mist Project Opens Tonight in SLC For One Month Only–Make Your Rezzie Now!

In a dining rut? Tired of eating out at the same places every weekend with your fiancé or your BFFs? Don’t get us wrong: Salt Lake and Park City have a wealth of delicious spots to get your grub on, but sometimes it’s nice to switch things up (like ordering steak instead of chicken). With a New Year comes new restaurants, and today marks the opening of Mist:Salt Lake, a new eatery destined to be a SLC hot spot—but only until February 19.

The Mist Project, the brain child of Chef Gavin Baker, is a multi-course culinary experience highlighting regional, seasonal foods in unique, temporary locations across the U.S. (Confused? Think of it like this: Instead of a pop-up boutique for fashionistas, this is like a pop-up restaurant for foodies.) Mist’s Michelin-caliber restaurants open in select cities for four weeks at a time—past locations include Park City in 2008, and this summer Mist will open in San Francisco.

Tonight, Mist:Salt Lake officially opens up its doors. (We’re heading to the launch party later this eveing—we can’t wait to see what Chef Baker cooks up!) The dining adventure runs through February 19 at the former Metropolitan restaurant space in downtown SLC (173 W Broadway). Because of Mist’s one month time frame, a limited number of seats are available and tickets must be purchased in advance.

Your $150 ticket buys you 15 courses (vegetarian options are available) and your table in the unique dining environment for the entire night (read: no pushy waiters ushering you out), so you’ll have plenty of time to indulge–and digest–each and every course. PLUS, some of the area’s best chefs, including Colton Soelberg of Pizzeria 712 and Communal, and Takashi Gibo of Takashi, will make guest appearances in the Mist:Salt Lake kitchen.

Whether you’re looking for an intimate evening as a couple to celebrate your love (may we suggest Valentine’s Day?), or a new twist to Girl’s Night Out or Boy’s Night Out (perhaps even a foodie-focused bachelor or bachelorette party?), Mist:Salt Lake is not to be missed. Put on your finest—think cocktail attire, no stretchy pants allowed—and prepare for an extraordinary dining experience.

Purchase tickets to Mist:Salt Lake on The Mist Project website: themistproject.com/tickets.

At last check, tickets were nearly sold out!

[Note: Mist:Salt Lake is BYOB, but there is no corkage fee so break out those bottles of bubbly leftover from the holidays!]
