Sonnets & Sweet Peas Inspiration Shoot
Oh so pretty-in-pink style by Erin Kate Photography and Soil & Stem
Something pretty this way comes! Local vendors Erin Kate Photography and Soil & Stem collaborated with You Doll Design and Pippa Cakery to bring to life this styled wedding shoot inspired by old-school love poems and fragrant sweet peas—the floral darling of the Victorian era.
The romantic design features a sea of sonnets, dainty French macarons, and pretty packages all tied up with satin ribbon. Soil & Stem arranged the bouquet, bridal crown, and floral accents; You Doll Design provided the blushing paper goods accented with gold calligraphy; Pippa Cakery whipped up a buttercream confection with layers of scrumptious candy-colored cake; and Erin Kate Photography captured it all from behind her lens.
Nicole Land of Soil & Stem shares the following inspiration:
Our vision for this shoot came to life beautifully and naturally. We wanted to incorporate sophisticated styling with a very specific floral story. Sweet peas quickly made a statement and left us enchanted by their butterfly-like blooms and honey blossom scent. If you stare at the blooms long enough you just might see wings all aflutter and draw in their sweet fragrance as it floats through your screen!
Pages torn from an old book of poems were hung from floor to ceiling, while pretty French detailing was woven throughout. French words for ‘sweet’ and ‘beauty’ were handwritten on opaque watercolor cards and French macarons were served alongside pink cake befitting Marie Antoinette herself.
The shoot most definitely has an air of romance about it; the images leave me longing for more sonnets, sweet peas, tulle, and pretty packages tied in satin. Oh the sweet peas!
Thank you Erin and Nicole for sharing this shoot with us!
