The stately Grand America Hotel sets the stage for dreamy florals worthy of your happily-ever-after.
Spring hath sprung in this feminine, organic arrangement of Koko Loko roses, Pieter B. roses, Heuchera sanguinea leaves, coralbell blossoms, spirea, apple blossoms, hellebore, and plum branches by Sarah Winward of Honey of a Thousand Flowers. “I love the spring because of the transition from wet, brown earth to bright, new life that is bursting from it,” explains Winward. “This bouquet has both of those elements in it: the muddy copper and lavender tones of the roses are a fun contrast to the bright, green pieces on the blooming branches.”

MY FAIR LADY
Sophistication meets sweetness in this lush arrangement by Rachael Affleck of Rachael Ellen Events. To create this rose-garden bouquet, Affleck chose classic blooms and foraged stems in a creamy palette with pops of warm, sunny hues: Bridal Piano rose, Like A Virgin rose, Sweet Avalanche rose, Yellow Babe spray rose, sweet pea, daffodil, salmon ranunculus, maiden hair fern, and Queen Ann Lace. “Foraged blossoms always add a garden-inspired and organic feel,” she explains. “Sometimes the textures and shapes seen in your own garden are far better than anything you could ever buy.” Most of these roses are available all year, but she says spring is the absolute best time for seasonal favorites like daffodils and ranunculus.
Claire Pettibone beaded ivory cotton lace gown with guipure cap sleeves and an illusion open back, $5,720, Alta Moda Bridal Boutique. Mikimoto pearl and diamond earrings, $9,600, O.C. Tanner Jewelers.
“The daffodil symbolizes new beginnings,” says florist Rachael Affleck, making it a fitting bloom for a bridal bouquet.
The inspiration for this fashionable, floral-heavy bouquet? “I’m seeing a trend out of Europe where they are using less greens but still creating that loose, lush look,” notes Amanda Hansen of Decoration Inc. While many American wedding trends are dictated by social media, Hansen says that across the pond they’re influenced more by the fashion world. With that in mind, she selected blooms including Earl Grey and Amnesia roses, hellebores, lilac, ranunculus, and just a hint of Japanese maple leaf for this cooly hued, of-the-moment arrangement.
Claire Pettibone gown of rose-gold embroidered tulle layered over silk charmeuse with an illusion neckline and scalloped hemline, $4,345, Alta Moda Bridal Boutique. LA VIE EN ROSE
Heirloom garden roses steal the show in this romantic, timeless bouquet by Mel Haupt of Mel Haupt Floral. She selected classically beautiful varieties, including mustard-hued Pieter B. roses, her all-time favorite stem, and alluring blush-, bronze-, and lavender-tinged Distant Drum roses. She combined the blooms with unexpected elements of French lavender, campanula bells, and columbine from Haupt’s own garden, plus locally foraged Russian Olive and honeysuckle vine to create an Old-World, provincial aesthetic. The finishing touch? A clipping of Silk & Willow ribbon. “I love using a color palette that combines soft and muted tones with bits of unexpected colors throughout,” says Haupt. “It gives the bouquet a warm yet fresh feel that could easily transition from a summer to a fall wedding.”
